Busy Beaver

I have been extraordinarily busy, but not with what I should be doing. So many university assignments looming, yet I prefer knitting, scheming, and playing. I really do wonder sometimes. I'll finish university because I've come so far and am getting a good amount of scholarships and free financial aid, but I can fully admit that if I had it to do over again I would take a different route. So, the plan? Finish it up and go from there while doing awesome things at the same time.

This past weekend brought along some of that playing in my travels to Kansas City for the baptism of my little love Eloise.

She's one awesome gal.

I was also able to cuddle up with a new little lady, Kenadi, on Eric's side of the family. His first niece by blood. She's so precious and I'm so happy to be a part of her life as well. What an exciting year of babies it has been!
There will be pictures of her too as soon as I can get over to their house for a little baby photo shoot.

I have plenty more of Eloise though. Of course.

Isn't she adorable?

It was a beautiful weekend with a rare event of my entire family being together, and I loved every minute.

Projects and Cuties

Sometimes Leroy puts on his serious face, which is cute, but also hilarious. We're used to seeing his big pink tongue poking out (due to his missing teeth), so when he's caught like this I just think he looks so darned grown up and serious. Love my little guy so so much.

A couple weekends ago we had the pleasure of hosting my lovely sister, brother-in-law, and my favorite little lady Eloise. This is the first time Eric had met her and also the first time he's ever held I baby (which really blows my mind because my arms are like baby magnets).
Yep, he'll make a good uncle, and also pop one day. We'll have another little one joining us any day from his side of the family. His brother and wife are about to pop another little cutie out any minute.

I've also been taking a beginning knitting class and in the fourth week started making my project. These adorable fingerless mitts. The pattern (I almost always say recipe instead...what's my deal?) can be found at that link on ravelry and my project can be found here. Ravelry is awesome and such a great resource.
Here they are at the beginning. I knitted on size 5 double points.

With a little help here and there from the lovely ladies at Knit and Caboodle I made it through and have some cozy mitts to keep my hands nice and toasty. Luckily I finished them just in time for the last couple of really cold days in awhile...I hope, and they fit wonderfully and did the trick.
Here they are in all their finished glory:

Now I have a couple little projects to start on, but am trying magic loop knitting and totally not getting it. After my Spanish test tomorrow I'm tackling those suckers and giving it another shot.
Then in mid-April I start a mini sweater class as well. Woohoo!

Whew! Lots going on as always, but I like keeping busy and honing new skills. I'll have time to practice those skills while riding with Mamba to Kansas City on Friday to see my little lady being baptized. It looks to be a great weekend!
