Beans Beans Good for Your Heart...

...the more you eat..hmm..the more awesome you are!

So, make yourself some hummus today!

I threw all of this into the food processor:

-2 (15 oz) cans of garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
-2/3 cup tahini (toasted sesame seed paste)
-1 small lemon squeezed in
-1/4 cup olive oil
-1/2 tsp salt
-1 1/2 tsp garlic (or to taste)
-1/4 cup water

Additional notes:
Adjust salt and garlic to taste.
This is heavy on the tahini flavor because I love the stuff.
Might need more water if using a blender instead of food processor, just add another 1/8 cup or so at a time until you have the right consistency.
Add ins such as peppers, basil, other herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, and so on would be great with this.
...and roll the lemon around on counter to get the juices nice and loose.

Also, makes a ton, so split recipe if you aren't having a huge craving for the stuff like I was.

Enjoy with your favorite cracker, chip, veggie, or spread on a sandwich or in a wrap.

Now get to gobblin'!

Over and Out,
Sarbear
